Job Summary:
Medical device sales representatives are responsible for selling medical products, equipment, and services to hospitals, health systems, doctors, and clinics. Total Compensation includes base salary plus commission.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Increase sales of products and achieve all territory sales objectives in alignment with the goals and compensation plan
- Foster and maintain strong professional relationships with hospital, clinical and administrative staff
- Manage all leads and customers within a defined territory, maintaining a high retention rate of accounts within the defined territory
- Attend all product training necessary to develop a thorough knowledge of the products
- Plan and conduct personal visits to customers and prospects to educate on the proper use and benefits of our products
- Attend and observe surgical procedures, offering instructions and information related to the product
- Communicate and collaborate with team members in sales, marketing, and customer service to improve the customer experience
- Collect, analyze, and present field sales data to leadership
- Manage budget and submit expense reports
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience calling on healthcare providers
- Experience selling within the surgical environment and familiarity with the OR policies and procedures
- Experience in developing accounts/markets within buy and bill medical environment
- Great interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
- Patience and composure when communicating with medical staff
- Must be able to solve problems with products, customers, and accounts
- Understanding of the functions and procedures of hospital supply chain
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience required
